Animal Welfare Consultant (Veterinarian)

Location: Remote | Commitment: 8-10 hours/week | Language: Spanish required; English C1+

The Animal Welfare Consultant will support our team by offering technical insight into the health and welfare of farmed animals. Your contributions will be key to our case assessments, regulatory analysis, and public reports, all grounded in sound veterinary knowledge and ethical commitment.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and contribute to technical reports, case files, regulatory proposals, and enforcement documentation

  • Help identify and define indicators of poor welfare conditions in animal farming facilities

  • Collaborate on training materials or public communications from a veterinary perspective

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Veterinary Medicine (ideally in Chile or another Latin American country)

  • Knowledge and/or interest in farmed animal welfare

  • Ability to interpret veterinary and technical language within policy contexts

  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts clearly

  • Independent, self-motivated, and well-organised

  • Fluent in Spanish; English (minimum C1 level) for internal collaboration

  • Comfortable working remotely with a diverse, multicultural team

  • Vegan or aligned with animal rights values.
